Acer Aspire One Black screen + cursor

When i start up my aspire one the logo of acer comes up and i can access boot setup. but after that only a black screen and a cursor (that i can move) comes up. I've updated the bios from a usb stick but that didnt work. seems to be some kind of problem with fedora. any help?

What happens if you try to boot with something else, e.g., a USB with another live distribution.

From the description, I'm not 100 sure that the BIOS upgrade went smoothly.

well if i boot from usb i come to this thing that says unetbootin. can i work something from there?

..I've tried to flash the bios like 5 times now so that cant be it.

Hrrm, I would try with a different distribution temporarily, just to make sure that everything is working properly. Although, when you come to unetbootin, usually, you hit enter, and then, in theory, it should boot. (Actually, it should give a choice, default and a few other things, but highlighting default with the arrow keys and hitting enter should work.)

I had same problem and found a solution in a thread "[SOLVED] acer ASPIRE ONE. Boots to a black screen with a mouse pointer "
Solution is to run fsck after boot - you can interrupt the boot process with control-c and get to run fsck in the console window. This fixed it for me and preserved all data and config on the system :-)
