oh man, Anaconda in fedora is kind of a pain in the ass it boots to fast. If its at installation try clicking on a button down arrow or something before it "auto-boots" and try adding that to the bootprompt: you should be able to freely type in it.

I am having the same problem, and I'm not clear on where I type linux noapic. If I hit esc at the first low graphics fedora screen, I get a boot prompt. Anything I type there gives a kernal "whatever I typed" not found.
From the Fedora boot screen, I can press tab to get the entire boot command (I'm guessing) starting with vmlinux......
Regardless, it gives the IO APIC resources message, goes blank, but the CD remains quite active for a while.
Stuck...

Yup, that's the right line. But it wouldn't be 'linux noapic' on that line, just 'noapic' without the quotes of course. So you just hit tab then space then type in noapic.

Sounds like Fedora is loading though, probably a problem with graphics driver.

Why don't you post what type of hardware you're using, especially graphics card.

Thanks for your quick reply and for trying to help. It's a Thinkpad G40, 2388. Intel Extreme Integrated graphics. celeron. Integrated wired and wireless. I have two harddrives, and did a pretty easy WinXP install on the other, though it has yet to recognize the wireless card.

By the way, I did add noapic to the command, and it made no difference. I haven't played with Linux since pre-Fedora. Are there any good switches for low or generic graphics?

Thanks again

Try adding 'noapic nomodeset', without the quotes of course.

xdriver=vesa

Would be the one for generic graphics.

nomodeset seems to have done it! I am on the desktop now, so I will start the "install to hard drive" after work today.

Thank you again, very much, for your help.
