Fedora11 -system-config-firewall
When I try to start the above I get a blank formed window that just hangs ?

I have tried an update to no avail and I tried an erase and install duo again to no avail.

Anyone know a fix?

Also how would I install a previous version of a program if I wished to ?

That symptom would indicate you need some package updated, like python or glibc or gtk. ...
Yum update

Previous version of what and for why?
The programs are updated to fix bugs.

The previous versions often work when the latest does not as is probably the case here

You may try the downgrade option of yum,

yum downgrade package_name

However, I think it doesn't consider dependencies, which means you have to take care for them yourself.
