gstreamer-plugins-bad and -ugly cause hang in nautilus, pidgin, empathy, songbird

Hi all!
I'm new to Fedora, and have just got Fedora 12 up and running nicely on my system. After the teething there is just one issue left to be resolved for my install:

When I have the gstreamer-plugins-bad and gstreamer-plugins-ugly packages installed, a number of packages hang at launch, including Nautilus, pidgin, empathy, songbird, and probably numerous others I did not experiment with. When I launch these applications from the command line, I get the following message:

Code:
Warning: Unable to create "trees" RDF storage.
Performance can be improved by upgrading librdf.
Then processor activity goes through the roof, and the process in question quickly takes up 99% of processor activity, but no windows open.

I was able to get nautilus running properly again by removing it and all the plugins (including the brasero plugin which I suspect of being the culprit), and then reinstalling it bare of any extensions that rely on these codecs.

As soon as I remove the gstreamer-plugins-bad and gstreamer-plugins-ugly packages, these programs all launch normally.

Am I missing some dependency of gstreamer-plugins-ugly and -bad?
Is this an issue that others have reported somewhere that I haven't found yet?

Thank you for your help, and by the way, other than this I am pleased with Fedora so far!

best

got it working..

Well, I figured out that it was just the gstreamer-plugins-bad package that was causing the problem, and removed it - but somehow it seems to have fixed itself after I ran the Autoten autoinstaller program (rpm here). Autoten must have installed some dependency of the gstreamer bad plugins that I was missing at the same time that it reinstalled gstreamer-plugins-bad and gstreamer-plugins-bad-extra. Not sure what it was but all systems are go now. give that a try..

Mismo problema. Me sale al ejecutar el "emesene" "pidgin" o "empathy".
Lo resolvi con un "yum remove gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-plugins-ugly"

Saludos
