problems changing modules

im having trouble on changing modules in the kernel on FC2.

after running
Quote:
make menuconfig
and configging that as my will tells me i have problems in the /lib/modules/ directory running
Quote:
make
and i got back

Quote:
CHK include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h
/bin/sh: line 1: arch/i386/kernel/asm-offsets.s: No such file or directory
UPD include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h
mv: cannot stat `include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h.tmp': No such file or directory
make: *** [include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h] Error 1
it doesn't compile any further, and i think this may be the reason which i am not able to compile vmware under this kernel.
anybody got any help??

Did you install the kernel sourcecode?

Code:
# yum install kernel-sourcecode

i had it installed before, but im not having any success. when i put the yum line in the term, i get this
Quote:
Finding updated packages
Downloading needed headers
tzdata-0-2004e-1.fc2.noar 100% |=========================| 29 kB 00:01
kernel-sourcecode is installed and the latest version.
No actions to take
Is there a way to make fc think that the krenel wasn't updated??

i have deleted all modules related to 2.6.8-1.521, even grub filez. the only thing left is the /usr/src/linux source code, just in casei feel like recompiling
