Installation Problems? Noob Needs Help!

I installed Fedora 12 on my laptop and it runs kinda slow and bad on my laptop. I tried to go back to my old ubuntu OS but found I couldn't install it afterwards. I then tried to install fedora 10 and I can't install that either. I think it might be because I chose encrypt system option when I installed fedora 12. I can only install fedora 12 at this time and it runs bad on my laptop. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks for the replies.

It is low end? How much RAM and what processor does it have? You could also try starting the installation of Fedora 12, then in the part of the install where you see the disk options, pick "custom partitioning" and use the partitioner to delete all the encrypted partitions so the disk is empty and exit out and install whatever Linux distro you want.

It has a pentium 4 processor 1.80ghz and 498.2 RAM. I am going to try to erase the partition like you said and see how it goes.

I tried deleting the partitions and it didn't work. Do you know what to do?

I suppose it would help if I knew what went wrong when you tried to reinstall the old Ubuntu,
did it say the disk wasn't findable or something else disk related?
