Forcing NTPD to resync

I'm not sure whether this is really the right forum but lets hope it is.

Is it possible to configure NTPD to resync very quickly and as soon as sees a time error? I wan't it to resync as quickly as possible and am not worried about the time jump.

I would rather not use cron and ntpdate.

Thanks

Peter
