sound driver removed mysteriously

Hi All,

One moment I was on my system working and the next I realized someone had deleted or removed my sound driver because I checked and it wasn't there. I should have written it down but I didn't and now I feel real stupid. Can I please get anyone's help to restore it.
Is there a way to restore it. I have a 32 bit machine running Fedora 12 Gnome.

Thank you for your help,

bigmac

Re: sound driver removed mysteriously

To reinstall that driver you need to first get the hardware's name:

lspci | grep -i audio

should show you that.

In the future if you want to save the name of the driver to some txt you can do:

$ lspci -vv | grep -iA10 audio | grep -i "driver\|modules" > /home/[user]/Desktop/audio_driver_name.txt
