dual-boot Linux and Win7

In the past, when I have set up a dual-boot configuration, I installed Windows first, then Linux. It worked just fine. Currently I have a Linux machine, and a virtual installation of Win XP that isn't working properly (it doesn't detect the CD/DVD drive). I would like to uninstall the virtual machine and leave Linux the way it is. Create a partition for Win7, and install it (last). Does a configuration like that work out OK?

Thanks,

You should be able to install Windows 7 without a lot of trouble. It will, of course, overwrite the Fedora boot loader, but you can restore that and configure it to properly boot Windows if necessary. I must admit that I've never tried installing 7 to any partition other than /dev/sda1 but it was never an issue with XP or Vista.

Boot with the Fedora install DVD and run through Rescue Mode. There's plenty of info here on how it's done.
