Re: F13: I can't open *.pdf

What are you doing?

The reason I ask is that some commands/utilities take multiple
parameters - something like *.pdf will expand into a list of
words that some utilities will use some of the words as
options, and not as a list of files. Others try to interpret
the list of files (this is more likely the problem) but do not
understand PDF files.

Oh sorry that was a misunderstanding.

With *.pdf i would like to say all pdf files. I open one specific but i have the problem with all
my pdf files.

I try to change the topic.

It's unclear, at least to me, what the problem is.
Explain in detail what you are doing - where you click or what commands you run - and what happens.
Also maybe give a short explanation in your own language, maybe someone who knows it can answer.

Re: F13: I can't open *.pdf

It might be worth to check how the pdf file was generated

How are you trying to open a pdf file. Are you using Evince or Adobe Reader, or are you trying to open a pdf from a website? if you are trying to open it from a website, what browser are you using, Firefox or Chrome?

Re: F13: I can't open *.pdf

Another question, is your system up-to-date? I remember during the F13 beta phase there was a bug in Evince where it would crash when attempting to open a pdf file.

It may be an issue that it just hasn't associated .pdf with Evince for some reason. If you open a file browser and right click on a pdf file, then open properties it should give you a tab for 'open with'. If Evince isn't one of the options, select 'add' and it should bring up a list of applications similar to the >Applications menu. It might not be called 'Evince' but just 'document viewer'. Select that and see if it'll work.
