HP 6500 Printer setup -F11

Hi, i have an HP OfficeJet 6500 that i want to set up on an ad-hoc network with my fedora 11 laptop. the printer creates the ad-hoc network hpsetup by default, but when i try to connect to it the computer just tries for five minute or so and then gives up. Im not really sure what to do, is the hardware simply not supported or are there drivers i need to install? i have tried hplip and the hp-setup command, but neither helped much. thanks.

Have you tried going to

SYSTEM --> ADMINISTRATION --> PRINTING

are you trying to print wirelessly?

As it seems to be an all-in-one device you might also need to install libsane-hpaio and add the the line hpaio to etc/sane.d/dll.conf. hplip-gui is also quite comfortable. You get both with yum... Good luck
