Upgrading from FC9 Server. Where do I find FC13 server distribution?

I'm a bit behind on my Fedora Server at home. Been running a FC9 Server install for some time. It has run fine for what I need (mainly Samba file server, Apache and FTP) but I think it's about time to upgrade to FC13. However, there doesn't seem to be a Server distribution of FC13 on the Fedora site, only the Desktop.

How do I get the Server version?

A thought bwilliam is from FC 9 to Fedora 13, may be "best" to do an new install due to so many changes between the versions. If this is possible with saving/migrating your data and current system capabilities with Fedora 13, then I would strongly suggest that as an option to pursue.

Second thought, I usually take the DVD version and apply server updates of programs and services, in order to "build" my server version.

Thanks for the advice.

Yes, I will most likely do a clean install (as I always have in the past) to make the move from FC9 to FC13. I was mainly wondering where the server distribution went? We used to be able to select "Desktop" or "Server" and download a DVD ISO file for either one. Now there doesn't appear to be that option and I was just wondering why it disappeared.

Did they :

Decide to (God forbid) charge $$ for the Server version?
Add so much to the Desktop version that there really isn't a difference?
Hide the Server version someplace "very safe"?

I suspect the Desktop version is sufficient for my needs in most regards and I could do like you suggest and download the "Server" extensions as required. However, I'm not sure exactly what those server updates would be. Maybe it will be obvious when I get there but it sure would have been nice to just download a Server version DVD ISO(s) that had everything needed to setup a Server all ready to go on the DVD.

Got any specific advice on what typically needs to be installed to make your machine a Server?

Administration Tools
Directory Server
Mail Server
Network Servers
Server Configuration Tools
System Tools
Virtualization
Web Server
Windows File Server
Clustering
DNS Name Server

It depends on what you want to do. It is possible to install all of the above
groups, but that is up to you.

Not sure, I do not know the history, but I believe may be as a way to provide an initial baseline system configuration 'desktop' which could be customized with additional add-ons to make a system as one would want/desire.

Beau, I concur with jpollard's recommendations, 100%!

I would add, a review of your current FC9 Fedora Server usage at home so that you may consider a Samba file server, Apache and FTP as well as whatever other goodies may exist to make a useful Server for you. May be a good time to review your needs and wishlist. Start with what you need and add accordingly.
