Unhappy F13: nvidia wallpaper spanning with dual monitors

Ever since upgrading from F11 to F13, wallpaper spanning has been driving me nuts. No matter what the size of the wallpaper, I cannot get it to span two desktops correctly anymore. Most styles (zoom, scale, etc...) cause the image to be duplicated on both screens and the "span" style centers the image between the screens and appears to scale down the image leaving large gaps on either side. It's like the background program doesn't recognize the "virtual resolution".

I hope I'm just missing something obvious because I can't seem to find anyone else out there reporting this same issue. Thanks for any help y'all can be.

Re: F13: nvidia wallpaper spanning with dual monitors

I thought maybe it was an issue with gnome, so I installed kde but had the same results. I don't think "spanning" is working properly with the nvidia drivers.

I have the same issue. The wallpaper won't span in Gnome. Anyone got a solution to this problem??
Is it confirmed to be an Nvidia issue?

Bump!

No one? Do I need to file a new bugreport or something? I really want to solve this.

Re: F13: nvidia wallpaper spanning with dual monitors

The same is not possible with Fedora 14.
It seems the option to span a wallpaper to dual monitors is not available anymore!

I know it was (is?) possible within Ubuntu since a long time so perhaps there's some minor changes in the gnome-wallpaper configuration...

Anybody more in that subject

Re: F13: nvidia wallpaper spanning with dual monitors

I am experiencing this same issue. My setup is dual monitors, each one having a resolution of 1600x1200 . I grabbed a file off of interfacelift that is the proper resolution to span across both screens (3200x1200) which this picture worked fine. THen I had friend create a 3200 x 1200 resolution picture for me and it will not span across hte screens. Instead the picture will be placed in the middle of the two screens combined resolution and not stretch or span to the left and right edges of the screen. The links provided are for the two files i have been trying to figure out why one works and the other does not. Any thoughts?

1.) Picture that works : https://picasaweb.google.com/1020669...75452329463234
2.) Picture that does not work : https://picasaweb.google.com/1020669...75403036254578

Re: F13: nvidia wallpaper spanning with dual monitors

Those pictures are not the same size.

The first one, the one that works, is 3200×1200 pixels

The second one, the one that is broken is 3200×1600 pixels

Holy crap! You are correct bodhi.zazen I feel like such a fool to not have noticed this before. Thank you for pointing that out for me. After resizing the image, I am back in business!
