fedora 13 inittab for ttyUSB0

i'm running fedora 13 (from live install), installed hylafax, got the setup configured and running. i also have a USB to serial converter cable hooed up to my modem, and have used minicom to confirm communication to the modem is successful. i now need to initialize the faxgetty (like i've done with older fedora version) with inittab. i had a working hylafax install on fedora core 6 and added this line to inittab:
mo:2345:respawn:/usr/local/sbin/faxgetty ttyS1
which works just fine on fc6. but the init process has changed with f13 and i cant figure out how to get the ttyUSB0 device to initialize with the init process.
can someone help me out?
thanks,
kirk

There's a section on setting up ttyS0 using event.d:

Re: fedora 13 inittab for ttyUSB0

I have the same problem on an upgrade to Fedora 15.

I have scripts that worked in /etc/event.d but now I cannot get the serial console to start at boot.

When manually excuting:

# /sbin/agetty -L 115200 /dev/ttyS0

Then the serial console wakes up and I can login beautifully without a problem. However I don´t want to execute this manually so I have the file /etc/init/serial-ttyS0.conf which looks like:

##
start on runlevel [2345]
start on stopped rc RUNLEVEL=[2345]
stop on runlevel [016]
respawn
exec /sbin/agetty -L 115200 /dev/ttyS0
##

I have tried some variations of above but the serial port just won´t show up for login.

Anyone got a tip?
