Free way of playing windows games?

I've recently built a linux box and noticed there is a program out there that will allow you to play windows games on your linux box, but they also require $60 a year to do so.

Is there a free version of this software or a similar software, or should I just keep my windows box around to play games with and the linux box for everything else?

You can either get cedega from cvs for free (don't ask me how) or dual boot your machine with windows or use a seperate box for gaming like you said.

The "stock" Wine RPMs (which Cedega is built on top of) will run several games, but don't expect it to be identical in every way, nor as fast as native Windows. If the game has some, er, interesting hooks into the Windows OS (and they all do), it may not even start.

The only way to reliably play Windows-based games is on a Windows system.
