Fedora core 2

Can anyone help me, I want to learn Fedora core 2, I know that it is an old version, but my text book is based on it, I installed virtual box 3.2.10, tried to install it but I got an error message, can't find bootable media, disk is in the drive. I restarted my computer and the dvd booted to the Fedora Core 2 install screen, so from that I don't think the dvd is bad or corrupted. I even tried virtual box 3.2.8 and got the same message. I posted this same question in the Oracle forum and I have yet to get a responce so I thought I would try here to. Please help, I am new to this and new to virtual box, any suggestions would be very welcome, Thanks again.

Re: Fedora core 2

is the DVD mounted in VB?
do all the setting in VB look correct?

sounds more like a VB problem to me.

You will be strongly urged to use a current version of fedora

Good Luck,

Re: Fedora core 2

I was wondering, aren't the commands in fedoa 13 alittle different than they are in fedora core 2, I can't get another text book because that is the one that my school gave me. More about the commands, is there any difference, I was told there is, where can I find a list of commands that have changed.

Lodge a complaint with your school... Seriously. Fedora Core 2 is EOL for more than 5 years now!

Actually, if you already know a thing or two about Linux, you could probably use a version of Fedora of more recent vintage (or even CentOS) and the profs would be none the wiser.

However, if the book has step-by-step howtos or activities, you may run into places where things don't match up from version to version.
