Fedora 14 not detecting USB keyboard or mouse

They don't even show up in lsusb on Fedora 14. Same devices are detected with the ubuntu 10.10 live CD. Below is the ubuntu version that I tested with
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ cat /etc/*ease
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.10
DISTRIB_CODENAME=maverick
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 10.10"

Linux ubuntu 2.6.35-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Sun Sep 19 20:34:50 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

here is the lsusb info from ubuntu, neither device even shows up in lsusb on fedora14. ANy tips?

Re: Fedora 14 not detecting USB keyboard or mouse

Yep. rebooted a couple of times, ran updates. I'm pretty confident it's not hardware because it's detected on the same machine with ubuntu 10.10 (live cd).

I removed F14 and went back to F13. Works fine. I'll just chaulk it up to product maturity and check F14 later.

and, when I leave the USB keyboard plugged in and plug in a PS2 keyboard, if I press the numberlock button on the PS2 Keyboard, the num lock light comes on, on both keyboards, but I am still only able to use the PS2 keyboard.

Re: Fedora 14 not detecting USB keyboard or mouse

Just for some extra bit of information. RHEL desktop has the same detection problem. Whatever is causing it is a problem the two share. I could go back to F13, but this problem is giving me doubts about the distro. Maybe it's time for me to get more comfortable with apt.

Natemarks:

Uh, oh! You've just committed a cardinal sin! You may only have ONE account here on fedora forums. Period. I have just permanently banned your NateMarks01 account, and if you ever attempt to open another one, I'll permanently ban that one and this one, too. This is the one and only warning you will receive on this issue.

This would be an excellent time to read the forum rules as compliance is mandatory.
