MP Bios Bug 8254 Issue!! Fedora 14

hi there have downloaded fedora live cd, attempting to install on IBM Netvista. When I boot from the fedora live dektop screen menu i get the following error code "MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC". From reading the forums it appears i should update the bios, but others have mentioned i could boot with noapic. Could someone please explain how to get into the grub bootloader from the fedora live dektop screen, what command do i need to input etc, and once in grub what command do i need to input to use noapic. Sorry am a linux newbie, wasn't expecting to encounter this bios issue, trying to learn as fast as poss.
Thanks
