Question How to hide directories for specified user while sharing through samba

Dear experts,

I have 3 directories test1, test2 and test3. I shared these directories such that the test1 is only accessible by the users member of 'ec1'. test2 is only by the members of 'ec2' and test3 by 'ec3'. It is working perfectly. I have to configure that when the members of ec1 access the share through network neighbourhood in windows, it has to automatically hide the other folders (test2 and test3). When the members of ec2 access the share through network neighbourhood in windows, it has to automatically hide the other folders (test1 and test3).When the members of ec3 access the share through network neighbourhood in windows, it has to automatically hide the other folders (test1 and test2). Please check this give me a solution as soon as possible.

Thanking you
Bensi Bose T.C.

hmmmm change browseable = no. That way the share disappears from the
browse list. To allow the valid users to see the share, use a login
script to map the share to a drive letter. Hope this works =)

johnnyq is right.

another alternative is this. if your clients are windows boxes however, you can just add a $ at the end of the samba shares' name.

example:
[group$]

NOTE: don't create your script in kedit or gedit. you'll have problems. use emacs or vi.
