Messed up my rhythmbox notifications..
After fiddling around with extensions for a while i noticed that my rhythmbox notifications didn't have the normal icons anymore (back, pause/play, forward). Instead the only button avalable is [Next].
Heres a screenshot. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Re: Messed up my rhythmbox notifications..
You probably have a theme selector such as user-theme or themeselector installed. These can cause such a problem. They use an API which is problematic because it causes styling to be messed up.

exactly what i thought at first. i deleted the user theme extension completely and tried restarting the shell after choosing multiple different standard themes. no luck

Re: Messed up my rhythmbox notifications..
First run the following as root to update the search index
Search for rythnbox folder under your home directory by
Code:
locate rhythmbox | grep `whoami`
Rename them to something else and see if that helps. If it help then remove the changed folders.

Re: Messed up my rhythmbox notifications..
Preferences are specific to users, try creating a new user and then using rythmbox with the new user.

Remove ALL extensions, both local and global, and reboot. Local live in $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions. Global live in /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions. Ensure that you have the distribution version of the theme styling file i.e. /usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/gnome-shell.css - not a hacked up version.

did some research and apparently an update causes this problem. if you dont mind breaking your rhythmbox notifications it would be nice to see if im not the only one there is a "yum history undo" just in case

i mean i still dont have what i want.. even after a fresh install + updates the notification still just displays a "next" button but nothing else. id like to know if anyone else is having this problem, though.
EDIT: just tried to start it up, the first time after the fresh install, and it wont open... again i assume it has to do with an update. any thoughts??

Re: Messed up my rhythmbox notifications..
Hi, I joined the forums specially to give you this reply. I'm facing the same problem as I suspect hundreds of Rhytmbox users are.
This is due to a bug in rhythmbox-2.90.1-3 itself. It worked in rhythmbox-2.90.1-2
The guys down at ArchLinux notified the Gnome team about it.
It is bug Bug 649217
It has been fixed, but seems like the guys from Fedora have yet to make it into a new package/patch.
For more information see
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=649217, you can implement the fix yourself if you want.
Hope this helps.
I've also submitted this as bug #714104 on bugzilla.redhat.com
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=714104
Hopefully this gets patched in the next update.
