USB Keyboards and BIOS access

I've tried using USB keyboards on two of my machines and they don't bring up the BIOS screen when I press the delete key as the motherboard posts. (This is the first time I've tried USB keyboards on any of my systems.) It this a common "feature" of using them?

The keyboards work after the machines have booted into Fedora. The motherboards are both Gigabyte brand. A GA-K8N with FC 15 and a MA790GPT-UDH3 with FC 12. In their BIOS settings, both motherboards have all the features related to USB support enabled.

Re: USB Keyboards and BIOS access

The majority work out of the box.

Some you have to enable USB keyboard support.

Did you enable all of these options?

Legacy USB Keyboard/Storage
Legacy (DOS) USB mouse
Legacy USB Storage

Sometimes you have to press the Del key repeatedly.

It is quite common with older motherboards. They tend to accept only PS/2 input during boot.

Newer motherboards should have no trouble.
