Gnome3 Fallback mode after Yum Update today

Ran Yum Update today (I do this every Tuesday) and everything went along fine, used my laptop all day, then had to shutdown while I went home. Got home turn it on and Gnome goes into Fallback mode.

Grub kept my old image line available in it's list, and when I use that to get into Fedora (Gnome3) it works fine. But something this week has apparently brokled the video drivers.

I'm using an Asus Laptop with an NVidia card. In Display Settings it won't even show that I'm on a "Laptop" anymore, just says "Undetected"

Took a look at lspci to see if it didn't show anything, but it shows GeForce 9600M GT (rev a1).

I've tried installing the actual Nvidia drivers before but have always been unsuccessful, and a buddy mentioned to do system-config-display, but that command isn't found. Not sure how to fix this, other than not use the latest updates...maybe next week things will be fixed?

Re: Gnome3 Fallback mode after Yum Update today

Installed the new kernel from today, nothing fixed. I tried to take a look at /etc/X11/xorg.conf but I don't have a xorg.conf file and when I try to run things like xorgconfig or xorg -configure the commands aren't found.

Re: Gnome3 Fallback mode after Yum Update today

Similar problem? I had Gnome 3, the full experience until a few days and an update ago, I'm now in fallback. Not sure why.
Asus UL50VT, Nvidia G210m. Proprietary driver 275.09.07 and I have direct rendering.
Gnome 3 was not in fallback with the previous driver but the system couldn't handle standby / resume.

Re: Gnome3 Fallback mode after Yum Update today

It might be related to having two copies of a library. Please check this thread http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=271542
