intel drivers have generally been poor. i use the Opensource Nvidia drivers, i have no problems with those. Nvidia update there drivers far quicker than ATI do.

G%$%D$&$^%M it!
That logon screen has got to be one of the ugliest I have ever seen
I hope they will allow you to keep the current design, or change it if you wish to.
Also, I sure hope that they make the Empathy contact manager and online accounts an option rather than enable it by default.
I sure don't want things like that enabled by default.

actually, i think its better than the ugly out of date grey GDM , the New one you see there has probablly less Code/lines in it than the Grey one also

Re: some links to screenshots of whats new in Gnome 3.2
Grey doesnt exactly have colour in it . i think you can install lightdm which is what Ubuntu is gonna use, i dunno how stable it will be though but my guess is they wont package the out dated GDM your used to

by the looks of it, there not going to package the old GDM, the 3.1.x one is the one you see in the screenshot

I guess I can go to using KDM or XDM instead, then.
I finally figure out the easy way to change the butt ugly striped wallpaper in GDM and they go changing it up on me

i think there is a way to change that wallpaper, im sure i saw somethig on the Ubuntu forum on how to do it, i cannot remember what part you have to Edit. maybe they'll use a different wallpaper for F16? i dunno, not that i care to much, i dont look at it every day.

Re: some links to screenshots of whats new in Gnome 3.2
In GDM, there is an easy way to change the wallpaper.
Code:
su -
(root password)
xhost +SI:localuser:gdm
sudo -u gdm gnome-control-center
*select Background
*change to whatever background you wish
*restart Gnome
But if their new logon screen isn't GDM, I don't know how to go about configuring it. If it is still GDM, I would assume it could be configured the same way, which means it could possibly be changed by tweaking the theme files for it and change the black to something else.
