My Broadcom BCM4313 wifi card don't work.

my wlan card is: Broadcom BCM4313
i follow: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=239922
be cause i don't have wire net i download from linuxwireless broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5.tar.bz2
(wget don't exists in my vocabulary now)

i run:
Code:
#b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o
but i can't restart NetworkManager:
Code:
#service NetworkManager restart
the code is:
etc/init.d/NetworkManager/ : line 35: /etc/sysconfig/network Don't exists file or directory .

Re: Broadcom BCM4313 Network manager

I can't promise anything regarding b43 and your device, but one thing is certain... You downloaded the version 4 driver tarball (probably the right thing to do), and then ran your b43-fwcutter command specifying a version 3 source object file (which not only is the wrong thing to do but it doesn't exist in that tarball anyway). Look carefully at those steps in the guide again. You started out doing the version four steps and somehow skipped down to finish up doing the version three steps. I would try again and stay in that box with the version 4 steps.

Once you have run the b43-fwcutter command on the correct source object file, check the folder /lib/firmware/b43. It should have about three dozen .fw files listed there. Then try rebooting or restarting NetworkManager again.

If you never get anywhere with b43 after confirming that you did everything correctly, then you might try broadcom-wl. It can be installed in your offline situation.

You are right ! I make a mistake.
I jump 3 'yum' for look the NetworkManager icon in the panel.
How install 'kmod-wl' , 'kmod-wl-PAE' and 'akmod-wl' without yum (offline situation)? With rpm?
http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfr...ing/x86_64/os/
i don't find kmod-wl-PAE for the architecture x86_64 rpm. Why only in i386 ?
I before to try install i go to see the dependences.

Thanks again!

Re: Broadcom BCM4313 Network manager

Okay, so the b43 thing must not have worked. To move on to broadcom-wl without an Internet connection, you can download three files from RPM Fusion and manually install them. But which ones depends on the running kernel. Return and identify the running kernel from this...
Code:
uname -r
Then I or someone will tell you which files to download with another computer or operating system, transfer to the wireless computer, and manually install.

P.S.: In an offline situation you will install the kmod version of the driver. IMO, the akmod version is much more difficult without an Internet connection because of multiple unpredictable dependencies. If you want the akmod version, then install it later with yum once you have established a connection via the kmod driver.

P.P.S.: There is no PAE kernel for x86_64. The 64-bit kernel already can do what the i686 PAE kernel can do.

Re: Broadcom BCM4313 Network manager

PAE stands for "Physical Address Extension" and is use on 32 bit (i686, i386) OS mostly to address more than 4GB on memory, like Stoat mention the 64 bit (x86_64) has that capability already.
