Re: Help with wireless card!

I don't really know what you should do. Sorry. But some things that I would consider include trying another wireless channel.

Is it possibly related to poor signal strength? Then do things to improve the signal.

Is your Internet service DSL? It's not unheard of for that to disconnect and reconnect. Often. For me, it was an overheating Motorola 2210 modem. It stopped overheating (and disconnecting) when I replaced the top of its case with an 80mm fan.

What driver is it using? That chipset is one of only a few that can work with multiple drivers or driver methods. I would try another one.

Re: Help with wireless card!

Okay. Do what you think is best. I still use XP for some things myself. But you never said what driver the thing has been using. That BCM4311 can work with the built-in b43 driver module with the built-in b43-openfwwf firmware, or it can work with b43 and firmware extracted from a proprietary driver with b43-fwcutter, or it can work with the Broadcom 802.11 STA Linux driver (aka broadcom-wl). And after those have been tried, there still is ndiswrapper with your XP driver. I did that myself for what seems like years before the Broadcom driver modules came along. My guess is that you are using the built-in stuff and never tried any of the other ideas (or you would have mentioned that, I think). I would try them.
