Libreoffice Base

Hello everyone,

There is a bit of a problem that I am trying to solve WITHOUT running access via Wine.

I run a logbook program that uses a MS Access format to store it's info. The program works fine via wine. In my older setup (micro$oft) I used access to convert some of the data stored in the tables to custom reports.

Is there a way to link tables inside the program database and then I will be able to re-create my reports in Base.

Thank you in advance for help and pointers

Re: Libreoffice Base

If your program is working in wine you may want to stick with it. You can connect Base to an external database like mysql or mssql, but I'm not sure if you can connect to an access .mdb database or not.

In any case, Access form and report generators included within Access are far superior to what's available in Base. Also your Access form may rely on some VBA which won't run in Base.
