Fedora 15 to 16 through Preupgrade fails in GNOME.

I get the message "encountered an error and cannot recover"

Only fails under GNOME. Why would this be? Having to use KDE instead....

that's GNOME crashing in some way, not preupgrade. hard to tell what's going on from the info provided, though.
