thunderbird won't start requiring a library which is in fact installed

Does anyone understand what TB is complaining about and how to fix that?

Code:
$ ./thunderbird
./thunderbird-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

$ file /usr/lib64/libdbus-glib-1.so.2.1.0
/usr/lib64/libdbus-glib-1.so.2.1.0: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, stripped
$ file libdbus-glib-1.so.2
libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open `libdbus-glib-1.so.2' (No such file or directory)
$ file /usr/lib64/libdbus-glib-1.so.2
/usr/lib64/libdbus-glib-1.so.2: symbolic link to `libdbus-glib-1.so.2.1.0'

Re: thunderbird won't start requiring a library which is in fact installed

I guess you are not using the fedora rpm.
Is your thunderbird a 64-bit version ? If not, you need the 32-bit library:
Code:
yum install  dbus-glib.i686

There seems to be no 64-bit thunderbird 8 at mozilla... That explains it.

If you are using Fedora 15/16 you can install thunderbird 8 using the repository.
