Help me set up Gmail/imap in Evolution

Hi, I have been trying and failing to set up Gmail with imap in evolution. I'm not sure if this is even possible. If someone has successfully done this would you mind sharing a step-by-step? Thanks

I've tried using that page, but I still can't get it working. imap is enabled in Gmail, but I just can't seem to configure evolution properly. Can you post what your settings are in evolution?

I'm not sure how I did it, but I have IMAP installed for gmail. I forgot that I had it working. Just tried it and it still works. I use claws-mail, since in the past I didn't fully understand Evolution. I'll have to use more often now.

Without giving us your password, attach what or how you setup gmail on Evolution.

I just looked at my settings and from the defaults listed on the link in the post is that it is imap+ and I set it to sync. Also it set up another folder and I have to scroll down to my gmail account it doesn't goto the inbox

Are you using F16/GNOME3? If so, just use the status menu in gnome-shell (i.e. click on your user name at the top-right of the screen), click on "Online Accounts" and add your Google account details there. Evolution/IMAP should then "just work". So should other Google services that you use (Calendar, Chat, Docs etc.), although you can disable them if you prefer.
