How do I install kde4 and remove xfce4?

Hi,

Having just installed chakra Archimedes on an old PC, I want to install kde 4.8 (I have the fedora repo) and completely remove xfce4- I installed using the fedora xfce spin.

What's the safest way to do that without trashing my system?

Thanks for any advice,

David

I'd actualy make it the other way round, first remove XFCE, and immediatly install KDE.
That is, because yum will probably remove some packages you would need, and the install after removal might install them again.

Nope - you don't assume there is a dependency bug. Instead if it occurs then report it and help everyone out.
