Re: program to recover deleted data?

i dont believe that it is possible to recover only 1 specific type of format when doing a recovery. your best bet is to do a recursive search of all the data recovered for your specific file type and hope for the best.

Re: program to recover deleted data?

well i found it just fine. here is the list of all formats recognized by photorec in their wiki. Once you start photorec and have selected the hard disk you want to work with it will ask you which partition you want to do the recovery on. In the very bottom of that page there is a [File Opt] choice where you can make the selection of formats you want or dont want. Just choose 'unselect all' and then select the ones u want using the spacebar with them highlighted. Then continue on as usual.

flv is flv in the list. you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Re: program to recover deleted data?

unfortunately pretty much all software based file recovery programs will find about the same stuff, you can try recuva from piriform in windows but i doubt that you will have much luck. its possible it was just overwritten to many times. your next step would be to send it to a cleanroom but that costs ALOT of money.
