GDM/KDM not loading
Very new to Linux and just installed F16 on my desktop PC yesterday.
(It's a dual-boot, but Grub loads fine and WinXP works normally)
Used the live cd and did a clean install on an empty hard drive. The install went smoothly, with no errors. Booted up to Grub, chose Fedora and loaded to a black screen with only a mouse pointer.
Pressed CTRL+ALT+F2 and got a command prompt.
Entered my root login and used yum to install a few hundred updates.
Rebooted.
Grub shows I am running 3.2.7-1.fc16.i686
Again it loaded to a black screen. CTRL+ALT+F2 Logged in as root, then entered "startx".
Gnome GUI loaded normally.
The problem is that the Login screen from GDM (or KDM) will not load. I cannot Switch User using the menu under my username in the top right of the screen. When I try, I get an error popup stating that the org.gnome.displaymanager was not named in any .service files.
I have created a file named "/etc/sysconfig/desktop" with entries for DESKTOP and DISPLAYMANAGER, which had no effect.
It's a minor inconvenience, since everything else seems to work fine.
Again, I'm very new to Linux ( a few days playing with it on my laptop before trying the desktop install ) so keep that in mind if you reply with suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Re: GDM/KDM not loading
Bump.
This is more annoying now, since I want to make several users to experiment with configuring gui elements and such.
Could this be a driver issue?
I have installed F16 on my older laptop and it works fine, but still cannot switch users on my desktop
