Firefox plugin? What am I missing or is it F17?

Most of my apps appear to be working fine, although I've noticed Firefox has been unable to open up some web sites correctly even though it was working well under F16.

After installing F17 from live CD I did the usual thing of setting up the rpmfusion free and non free repositaries. Firefox has the icedtea plugin, but on some sites I get a picture of the movieplayer splash screen even though there is no media to play. I tried Google Chrome which works a treat instead.

The following image is accessing a site from Firefox

This is the same site from Chrome

I'm not entirely sure whether this is just a simple error on my part by forgetting to install a needed package, or whether there is something going on with F17. Grateful for ideas and thoughts....

I was experiencing the same thing with both Firefox and Chrome. A possible solution for you might be found in this thread. Essentially, if the totem-mozplugin is installed then remove it and restart Firefox.
PHP Code:
yum remove totem-mozplugin

It looks like the totem plugin is trying to play the flash content on that page
