odd issue

i am having a ping issue i would say. i am running nagios to watch over my network with fc16 i have a issue were every other day a host will be down i can not ping the host from fc16 box but i can ping the host from my windows box and any other box


if i run /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart
it will fix the issue for a bit the issue is just random host the fc16 just say no to. all other host will work


PING 10.2.2.12 (10.2.2.12) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 10.0.5.91 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable


fyi the host is up and running but can not ping it from the fc16 box

any help would be good

you're pinging thru a router, I assume, as your subnets are very different ...

And depending on the netmask.

If he uses 255.0.0.0 then it is all one network... But yes, normally they would all be different.

the thing is its one host all the other host on that network are working i can post configs anything u need to help me out i am about to kick the server over lol

anyone have any help right now i have a cron job that runs every hr to reset the network but its kinda bad seeing your hole network down on the hr
