I know Picasa is EOL and I should just move on, but I have a lot of time and photos invested in their albums, and I REALLY want to make this work. I've tried software that works natively with Linux, and none of them really compare at filtering through and editing hundreds of photos.
I'm running a 64bit F16 install.
I am not new to Linux, I've been running Ubuntu for years, but this is my first Fedora install, so things like Yum are still a bit confusing.
I've downloaded picasa-3.0-current.i386.rpm, but when I type
Code:
jjdarling@jjdarling-desktop ~$ sudo yum install ~/Downloads/picasa-3.0-current.i386.rpm
This is the output I'm getting:
Code:
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit, tidy-cache
Examining /home/jjdarling/Downloads/picasa-3.0-current.i386.rpm: picasa-3.0.5744-02.i386
Marking /home/jjdarling/Downloads/picasa-3.0-current.i386.rpm to be installed

But then Picasa never actually gets installed.
I've also tried installing via Fedorautils, as has been mentioned, but it simply never even comes up as an option, unless I'm missing something.
I've looked through other guides on here, but they all seem to start with Picasa installed but not working. I'm sure I'm missing something, so let me know what output you need to see to help.
Thanks!
