Documents Fedora 17
Hello,
In the leftbar Favorites I get Documents.
Nothing in there just New and Recent and a refresh button
What is the use of this program ?
Thanks
Rosie

Re: Documents Fedora 17
It's tied to Documents in your /home. If you download or put something in there, it's an access to it. However, it's a PITA since you can open that icon but there's no "close" on the window, just "done". You have to go to the icon again (that's opened) to right-click for a close.
Each of the documents you put in there will then have "add to favorites, print, organize or open with libreoffice". Again, mostly a PITA to me, but that's just my opinion.

An alternative way to close it is to click on the title bar (What appears after the Activities menu on top left) and choose quit.
One of uses it has is synchronization. If you have an online account configured using online-accounts, your documents on server will be 'synced' which means as long as you are connected to internet, where the docs are stored does not matter.
Another utility, in my opinion is, having gnome-documents installed aids in searching file names from gnome search box and not just applications.

Re: Documents Fedora 17
Well, there ya go! Guess it's useful for lots of people and lots of things, just not me (continues to be a PITA 'cause I mix it up with the sudoku icon).

Re: Documents Fedora 17
Actually, other than search, I have not used that for anything else and do not know how well it works ... But, these are the stated features I guess.

Re: Documents Fedora 17
Thank you all for the reactions.
I put some documents in my home/documents folder to see if it works
Nothing shows up in Documents exept the title new & recent, after clicking on the refresh button the title appears Click on items to select......
What items to select, nothing in there...!

Re: Documents Fedora 17
I know this is an old thread but...
I find my google docs in the documents folder.
I wanted to know if it's possible to keep those files offline. Any one have any ideas about that?
