Start up Programs

Hello,

Where do I find in Fedora 17 the place where programs can be automatic started ?

Well, it depends on your desktop environment.
Some of them use launchers (in the .desktop format) in the directory ~/.config/autostart/.

For the default install, run "gnome-session-properties" and add you programs there.

Dear Linuxers,

I cannot find gnome-session-properties, nor I know how to get to the map ~/config/autostart.

I'm using Fedora for not a very long time.

My desktop is Gnome ( I thinke)

There is as far as I know no starter available. You have to enter this command into a terminal.

The "~/" means your home folder, so the complete path would be:
/home/<your_username>/.config/autostart
Because of the dot before ".config" the folder is hidden. So you have to set your filemanager to show these files (e. g. ctrl + h for nautilus).
