Hi,
I'm running Fedora 17 64bit on an intel computer and have just had to replace my printer, I bought an Epson Stylus S22 and am having problems.
I got the printer today and just plugged it in (it's a simple USB only priter) and it was auto detected (i believe the driver was listed as "Epson Stylus S21 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9 Simplified") however all of the prints had the bottom quarter to two thirds missing. Print quality was fine above this point, it would print until a certain point then it would just eject the paper like there was no more to print (even though there was).
I tried a few things (including the official Epson drivers and had the same problem with them) and then thought i'd try booting from a Fedora 17 live USB and see what happened. It auto detected the printer and printed perfectly full page just as it should have done, the driver was listed as the Epson Stylus S21 driver the same as in my normal installation BUT this time it was an older version 'v5.2.7' instead of 'v5.2.9'.
Is there a way of reverting back from the 'v5.2.9' to the 'v5.2.7' and then telling it not to upgrade it to the latest version of the driver or am i stuck with doing a full reinstall of Fedora 17 (and how do i lock the version of the printer driver once i have so that it's not upgraded)??
Thanks in advance for your help, it's much appreciated!
