Fast user switching

Is there a way to switch back and forth between users in Gnome like in Windows XP?

I don't think so, but here is a thought. Go to <ctrl>+<alt>+F1, log in as a different user and startx. Then you switch back and fourth using <ctrl>+<alt>+Fn...
I have never tried this, but it makes sense to me!

The error specifies that the server is running on Display 0. I'm guessing there must be a way to start it on another display, say 1! I'm curious so I'm gonna try and read up on this too. Let us know if you find a solution on your own!

Update:
Code:
startx -display:1
is not working for me either, as it spits out the same error (Display 0 already running...)
Any help from anyone appreciated!

To open a new x session as the same user, run the command
startx -- :1

To run a new desktop as a different user:
ctrl-alt-F1
* login with your username and password *
startx -- :1 && exit

The last part logs you out from that terminal when you end your desktop session.
