    Imaging for Linux (Like Norton Ghost)

    As some of you might know, Norton Ghost has dropped Linux support, not to worry, i found a great open source application that does the same thing

    It is call Mondo Rescue, it even have more options than norton ghost

    its not free though i believe which is a bummer. but i believe its packaged with mandrake.

    ok, found a mirror and donwloading the iso image to try. coulda sworn i read some feedback about it being shareware but i guess ill find out soon enough,

    Here is the link to DVD stuff, and it also says on the web page that it is FREE (excluding support or technical calls).

    Who uses such an outdated product as 'dd' anymore, when you can have a much cooler named utility to do it for you.

    i can see this is gonna be fun to install. at first, upon running ./setup for mondo i was give this very very small dependency issue:

    try partimage... it is a GUI to dd and several other utilities (just to glue copying>compressing>sending over net) to backup entire partition... it comes with a client and a server. so you can have a partition server and script everything to do its job... in my school it is deployed on 600 machines. you just hit "rescue" on grub screen and partimage copies over a fresh partition image to the machine... it is kind of cool you can always use dd but partimage is much more - it ofers you few essential features (as I mentioned - copying/restoring fs over net) and can be easly scripted (dd is little more difficult to script as you need to pass fs sizes and so on - partimage does it for you).

    Will this clone a disk that contains linux and windows (dual boot) safely?
