HOw to test my irda adapter?

Hi All,

I have MA-620 usb irda adapter. I tried to send pics from my hp directly to my pc but my handphone didnt sense any irda device around. i guess it s not as easy as windows.can anybody pls tell me how i can check my irda port whether is working or not?
