I'm sure everyone is sick of this subject, but I had to bring it up one more time. Just wondering what everyone used. Since I'm in Linux 99% of the time, with over 9000 pieces of music, and many photos, etc. on my machine, stability is important.
I understand that mixing repos is not a good idea (I actually trashed my machine twice as a green newbie...I'm still a newbie, but I've ripened a bit), but how about someone who started out with fedora/livna? Can they "switch" to the RPMforge repos?
The reason I ask is that many of the apps most important to me (flac, ogg vorbis, rhythmbox, xmms, etc.) seem to get more attention from the "unofficial" repos--that is, there are upgrades available that aren't available on the "official" repos.
And...when an official kernel upgrade comes out, or other core apps, do people using the RPMforge repos upgrade (i.e., mix)?
Thanks for you patience and thoughts,
Mark
