ati drivers are driving me nuts

Alright im pretty sure you guys are tired of hearing this one, but i still cant get the ati drivers to work, ive followed numourous how-to-do installtions but none of them seem to have worked successfully.

First - I tried the driver installtion with the livna ati drivers + kernel module, no luck, when i get in X and run fglrxinfo i get this information:

display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.1)

after i seen that i looked in dmesg to see whats up and it said this:

fglrx: module license 'Proprietary. (C) 2002 - ATI Technologies, Starnberg, GERMANY' taints kernel.
[fglrx] Maximum main memory to use for locked dma buffers: 929 MBytes.
ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNK4] enabled at IRQ 5
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:00.0[A] -> GSI 5 (level, low) -> IRQ 5
[fglrx] module loaded - fglrx 8.8.25 [Jan 14 2005] on minor 0
allocation failed: out of vmalloc space - use vmalloc=<size> to increase size.
Fire GL built-in AGP-support
Based on agpgart interface v0.99 (c) Jeff Hartmann
agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 816M
agpgart: Detected nVidia nForce2 chipset
agpgart: Bridge device is in AGP v3 mode
agpgart: AGP aperture is 512M @ 0xa0000000
Power management callback for AGP chipset installed
[fglrx] AGP detected, AgpState = 0x00000000 (hardware caps of chipset)
[fglrx:firegl_unlock] *ERROR* Process 4811 using kernel context 0

so i sat and thought for awhile and thought to try to uninstall Mesa, but after a successful uninstalltion i get back in X and the fglrxinfo is STILL the same info. I have tried both ati-fglrx-devel/ati-fglrx/kernel-module-fglrx and the regular ati drivers with this and nothing seems to work,
after every installtion and reboot i still get the same fglrxinfo stuff. The only sorta successful installtion was this one: http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/sho...6&page=2&pp=15 but after i rebooted something messed up because i had to go through a file system integrity check, and..fglrxinfo turned back to mesa again.

Please any suggestions at all will be most helpful. Thanks

EDIT: i forgot something, when i try fgl_glxgears it gives me this error:

[archvile@localhost ~]$ fgl_glxgears
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 32
Current serial number in output stream: 32

try the following:

run fglrxinfo again and use the external agpgart

as usual change in the XFConfig-4 the keyboard driver name to "kbd" and move this file to xorg.conf
