yes you can do with yum or apt-get,but firts you should add the rpositories for fc3 to /etc/yum.conf and /etc/apt/sources.list.

Im pretty much a noob to all of this..

can you help me out and be a little more specific on what I need to change, and what the commands are?

im using yum, but i like apt-get a lil better.
