Playing multiple mp3 files from Nautilus

I have MPlayer set up to play mp3,ogg,wma etc.

In WinXP, a function I use all the time is to go into my music directly, select a number of music files, right click and open in Media Player. If I do the same thing in Nautius it loads each music file in a separate MPlayer - not idea. What I want is for it to load all the files I've selected into one MPlayer instance and then play them all.

Any thoughts.

Mark.

ps. Alternatively, a music player that can use all the MPlayer codecs (wma, Ogg, Mp3) and with playlist management that allows you to change the tags - I've heard amaroK has a decent manager but will it run under Gnome (do I need to insall KDE?) and will it use the MPlayer codecs (It's the only player I can get to play my wma files while I'm in the process of re-ripping my CD collection on Ogg).

amaroK is the best audio player on the platform in my opinion.

Can I use amaroK without KDE?

amaroK only requires KDElibs, none of the other KDE stuff. So you have to have KDElibs installed properly (including all the binaries that come with it, as amaroK needs some of these to find plugins and for the script plugins). We have written an entry for how to compile a minimal KDElibs, which you may find useful.

For some features to work correctly, such as the on-screen display, require your window manager to support the relevant freedesktop.org standards. So GNOME will work well, but fluxbox will have some trouble.

We are committed to supporting amaroK on all platforms. We use KDElibs and Qt because they provide an excellent development environment.

I'll give amaroK a try ( after intalling the KDE libs).

On my first point, is it possible to select multiple music files in nautilus and when right clicking and selecting "MPlayer" only have one install start with all my selections in (instead of one instance per music file)?
