Question corrupted graphics after install?

hey guys, This is my first Fedora core 3 install. I downloaded the Core 3 64 Bit edition DVD copy from one of the mirrors last night. After making a partition on my Primary hard disk i was able to install Core, Took less than 16 mins. My system rebooted.. Fedora screen loaded up Hdd, network, audio...everything Okay >> Done, Done.. But reaching the desktop screen i see corrupted graphics, Blurry lines(blue/green/yellow)

Can anybody explain what went wrong here? Fedora doesn't support nVidia 6xxx series?

Here are my setup specs:

A64 S939 Winchester 3200+
DFI Lanparty Ultra-D
2x 512Mb Corsair PC3200 C2
nVidia 6200 TC PCI-E
Seagate 120Gb 8Mb cache HDD

How do you check MD5sum? Is there is a Windows utility to check the downloaded DVD ISO?

thanks.

check your DVD with the mediacheck program--
put the dvd in and boot the computer--when the Fedora Install screen comes up type in
linux mediacheck
and let it run to the "mediacheck" screen and hit the ok there and let linux check your dvd out--usually it will find the bad burn or if it has a problem--
if the dvd checks ok just stop the install ctrl/alt/del key combination and then crtl/alt/backspace key combo and let linux shutdown/reboot--but I don't think you have a bad burn, but it could be--more likely could be a bad/wrong video driver. Might try another install if the dvd checks ok

Video Issue

I experienced the video failure after installing FC3 on a Dell GX150. The GUI was fine throughout the installation, but I ended up with a screan full of streaked colors after I attempted to start the O/S GUI. Any idea how to fix this?

You probably have an i815 chipset and the install FC3 has a bug with Xorg

Have a look at this post

This is a link to do MD5 checksums in Windows, or the MS DOS version

http://www.linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/verifyiso.html

Please let us know how it works-

Thanks for the link It was a bad download.. so i so re-downloaded the 64bit C3..and its up and running now

I have to admit that C3 doesn't support a lot of nVIdia cards.. i see almost everyATI cards listed in the video card preferences and only one nVidia GF2

Now, playing with all the settings and tools.. so far so good

thanks again for all the help!
