Postscript Printer and CUPS

The linuxprinting.org site lists a lot of printers are to be used with the Postscript driver. HP JaserJet 2300 for example. However if I do that the printer only spits out Postscript commands, not rendering them as expected.

I looked up the specs for the 2300 and it says there is only PS Level 2 emulation, and only if you use Evil Empire stuff.

Is there anyway I can get the Postscript driver to work on this thing? Are there additional steps I need to take? Thanks a whole heap in advance.
