Question ATI fglrx problem Blank Screen

Greets all.

I've been trying to tackle this problem for a little while, but I'm stumped. I've read all the posts I could find concerning getting the fglrx drivers installed. Here the situation:

I'm running FC3 with kern 2.6.11-27 and Xorg 6.8.2 and I have installed the livna.org rpms for my ATI 9800 Pro to install the fgrlx drivers. The rpms (ati-fglrx and kernel module) install with no errors.

The module will load fine but when X starts, my screen goes blank, and I have to manually reboot the comp. I can't switch to any other teminal at all, and no keyboard commands will be registered.

LINK: Here is my xorg log.

I'm really stumped.

This has happened to me when trying ATI's reference drivers as well. So I'm assuming there is some setting I must need to chage.

The only warning in the Xorg log I see, (but which I do not understand how to fix) is,

Quote:
(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:0:1) found.
Any helped would really be appreciated. I'm stumped. So far, IRC chat channels have been of little help.

Cheers!

That warning is normal, it's caused by having only one display defined on a dual-head capable display card. I get the same warning on my Radeon 9000 with X.org drivers, and there's no problems with the X server operation.

In my experience, the ATI fglrx drivers simply suck and trying to get them working is a waste of time.

I can see that.

I'd stlil like to get this working. This is just a wird problem because I get no errors in the logs, so i don't know what it could be or where to go from here.

Thanks for answering my other question though.

Cheers!
