Real Basic 2005 for Linux

RealBasic 2005 just got released for public beta for linux and in August when it ships their making the standard edition free to linux!!! Thats awesome. All you VB'ers looking to move to Linux will be right at home here. Ive got no reason to use windows now....runs great in FC4.

This is pretty cool. Obviously, you need the professional edition if any Windows users will use your program but still it's pretty cool.

Do you like surfing forums but wish people would stop using obscure abbreviations and acronyms?
Then my Firefox/Chrome extension ABBREX is for you!
It automatically adds hover tooltips to abbreviations displaying their meanings on any web page you visit!

Hell yeah its cool. Think of how much more software made with it will make it into the open source pool! Hell VB helped windows create alot of extra stuff, this should do the same. Ive been using it at work in a production environment for about a year and I think its really easy and great to make big apps. I actually like it better than gambas.

I can't find the license info anywhere on their page but looks to be closed source/proprietary. That's a deal killer for me.

I don't bother with proprietary devel tools, either, but I see this as an advocacy "talking point" to get VB programmers to switch, even though I think they might be better off in the end using Python with one of the free GUI toolkits.
