installation disc

what is the difference between the standard iso images and the SRPM ones?

The SRPMS discs contain the source code, avoid them if you don't plan on building FC4 for yourself. Just grab the regular discs, its all you really need.

well i am hoping of becomming a developer for fedora, would it help to build it from source and how many option would it have, could i change kernel option?

also what is the SHA1SUM file in the downloads section?

Hello Jason_Lovett,

It contains the output on sha1sum of an uncorrupted download. So users can check the if the download went flawless. If the download got corrupted while downloading it, and you run sha1sum on the downloaded file the output will be different.

Sorry, I haven'tted in a while. I have never built Linux from the sources, I have built and compiles the kernel, but never the whole OS, I assume it would give you a lot of options and customizable selections for your own personal OS. You can go ahead and try it if you like, but I'm gonna stick to the fedora installer.
